You could be doing more.
But you see all these people who are taking advantage of this new world we’re living in, building businesses with the use of social media, making a living by simply sharing their passion with the world, and you put them on a PEDESTAL. You think of them as special. Or perhaps, you tell yourself that they had to run into some good luck to get there – luck that you don’t have.
And you know what? These things are true. These people are special.. But SO ARE YOU.
And luck? Yea, sure some good luck might’ve played a part in their success, but here’s the thing: HARD WORK puts you where the good luck can find you.
You too, can be “lucky”.
Stop thinking that these people are different than you, because they aren’t. Like you, they are regular people. People with beliefs and ideas. Likes and dislikes. Emotions and insecurities.
The only thing that separates them from you, is that somewhere along the line, they decided to take a shot at taking ACTION. Then, someone gave them a bit of a positive feedback, and they felt something gently light up inside. Then, they found they actually enjoyed what it was they were doing, so they kept doing it. Then, great things started to happen, and the excitement grew further. They kept going, and before they knew it, they were living a life entirely on their own terms. A life in which they only ever do the things they LOVE doing.
Can you imagine the sense of freedom that comes with this? A life in which YOU are only doing the the things you love to do..
But like anyone who has gone full-time with their own business will tell you, it’s not easy. If you’re like most and need to maintain an income while working on growing your own business, you are going to have to WORK. The great thing is, if you do this right, the work hardly feels like work.
I was once in this place, where I didn’t feel ready to quit my job, but I knew that what I was doing didn’t lead to where I really want to be. So I did what I had to do: bust my ass.
At one point, I was working 14hr days at the gym. I would get home around 8:00pm, but I was waking up at 5:00am at the time, so I had to get to bed by 11:00pm if I wanted 6hrs of our sleep (any less and I would’ve been a zombie teaching 4-8 people how to do olympic lifting at 6 in the morning. I think you’d agree that sleep deprivation + olympic lifting doesn’t sound like a good mix)
So I had about 3hrs to myself after an exhausting day. It would’ve been so easy to collapse onto a bed/couch and relax for the remainder of my evening, but want to know what I did instead? I did what I needed to, to begin creating the life I dreamt of.
I dreamt of having my own online-based business. So with my 3 remaining hours I would I spend at least 2 hours each night working. My one and only hour of personal time was spent with my girlfriend who just wanted to connect with her boyfriend – her boyfriend who couldn’t even be present with her because his brain was fucking fried.
Now, I’m not saying any of this because I think everybody should be working 16hrs a day, and pushing themselves to the limit like I was (in fact I don’t even recommend this). But the point I am trying to make is this: if you want something bad enough, you’ll find a way to make it happen. But like most people, you’re probably stuck in inaction, because you suppress your desires, let fear control you, and remain unaware of what is possible.
But something magical happens when you choose to align with your higher purpose. In alignment you become fueled with CLARITY AND PASSION. With a clear vision in mind and passion flowing through you, you don’t stop at anything.
Today, I can confidently say that I don’t ever let myself do something that I don’t want to do. In everything I do, ALL OF ME is in it. I’ve afforded myself this freedom.
You too, were meant to live this type of life. A life in which you feel free.
But your fear and doubt is paralyzing. Fear of the judgement of what those around you will think or say. Fear of putting in effort and failing. Doubt that someone like you could make this happen. I’ll say it again, people like you ARE making this happen.
You decide it’d be easier to look the other way and say it’s unrealistic.
When you connect to and align with your purpose, this fear and doubt fades away. Or perhaps it’s still there, but you learn to act through it – you learn to embrace it even. Because when you align, more important than your fear and doubt, more important than anything, is that FEELING you get when you get after it.
You haven’t felt alive until you’ve chased after your dreams.
I want you to feel this feeling.
I want you to know what you’re missing out on.
I want you to know, you could be more.
